HOMESTEAD PROJECT

Vicinity Plan

Above is an image of of the proposed location for the Homestead Project.  It is on the SE corner of Gilbert and McDowell.  What is proposed includes a 2-lane roundabout replacing the light at the interchange of 202 freeway and McDowell.  Details on the proposed development are listed below along with instructions on how you can voice your support or opposition to City Council before they vote on Monday, Feb 13th.

Background

"Sweetwater" (District 1) AKA Homestead at Lehi Crossing SE corner of McDowell and Gilbert (Crismon Homestead). This is considered a fringe area just outside the Lehi Sub Area Plan and will have a significant impact on NE Lehi and surrounding neighborhoods.


  • 222 apartment units, 3 & 2 stories, with 400+ parking spaces. 
  • Will replace the existing traffic light at 202 Freeway entrance/exit on McDowell road with a roundabout to accommodate projected 1906* weekday total traffic volume generated by the project.   (See page 1 & 3 of the site plan attached)  
  • 150+ residents in Lehi and surrounding neighborhoods signed a petition opposing the development in 2021.  
  • Planning and Zoning initially denied the project in October 27,2021 but on July 27th, 2022, it passed unanimously at the Planning and Zoning Meeting

What can you do?

  • The best way to make sure your support or opposition of this project is a

matter of public record, is to do ONE of the following:

  1. Complete and submit a "comment card" 24 hours ahead of the meeting (i.e., end of day Saturday, Feb 11th.) - easiest and quickest if you do not  plan to attend the live meeting. 
  2. Complete and submit a comment card to join the live meeting via phone and speak.  This must be done at least 1 hour before the meeting. 
  3. Attend the live meeting in person and complete a comment card there and speak.
